Alison has appeared with Kurt Elling, Nate Smith, Charlie Hunter, Big Daddy Kane, Pharoahe Monch, Ana Egge, and is a member of the band Red Baraat, whom NPR calls “the best party band in years.” She has toured extensively around the United States, Canada, and South Asia, performing at jazz festivals, performing arts centers and clubs. Notable venues include SFJazz Fest, Saratoga Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival, Music Mela, The Moab Music Festival, Dubai Expo 2020, The Blue Note NYC, Lincoln Center, Merkin Concert Hall, Bowery Ballroom, Brooklyn Bowl NYC, The Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, and Joe’s Pub among many others.

Alison was a founding member of PitchBlak Brass Band, a ten-piece hip hop brass band that received critical acclaim from DownBeat Magazine, NPR, Live for Live Music, The Wall Street Journal, and The Source Magazine. Alison formed her own quartet in 2015, united by the love of genre bending, melodic music.

Alison released her debut album View From Above on February 18, 2022 to critical acclaim. View From Above was an editor’s choice in the March/April issue of JazzTimes, and a staff pick Top Ten Albums of 2022 at Jazz Night Night in America on NPR.

Alison is passionate about arts education and has maintained a private teaching studio for 15 years. She recently joined the faculty of Jazz House Kids where works with young students to develop and deepen their understanding and practice of jazz.
