Claudia Acuña is a Latin Grammy Nominee and a NPR Tiny Desk Concert artist. Born in Santiago, Chile and raised in Concepción, Acuña is celebrated for her blend of South American folk music with jazz and world music. She’s known for collaborations with Harry Whitaker, Arturo O'Farrill, Guillermo Klein, Branford Marsalis, George Benson, Kenny Barron, Louie Vega, Tom Harrell and the San Carlo Di Napoli Symphony Orchestra. 

She has done six albums as a bandleader. Her debut album “Wind from the South“ was on Verve Records, and made her the first Latin American vocalist signed by a major label. In 2019, she received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Album for “Turning Pages“. Other albums include Rhythm of Life (Verve), Luna (MaxJazz), In These Shoes (Zoho Music) and En Este Momento (Marsalis Music), all which received critical acclaim. 

Her recent performances include International Jazz Day with the Herbie Hancock Institute, Newport Jazz Festival, and Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall.
